I just logged on to Seattletimes.com and saw how ridiculously hot it is back home. Dang, we've been riding around the last few weeks in our fleece coats and 'waterproofs'. I woke up shivering last night.
We're currently in Aviemore - Scotland's outdoor haven. We're heading out for some hiking today and we're renting mountain bikes tomorrow. I'm sure we won't miss the weight of the pannier bags.

Parents - be careful with Bella as she doesn't do well with heat.

Not to worry about Bella. Dad's been taking her to courgar mt. before 8 am. Then we all lay low in the house w/ AC. The head wave has calmed down a bit.
ReplyDeleteI went to Oregon for 3 days to visit my friend who just turned 80. what fun. Oceanside was 75 while it was 107 in Portland. Very cool and beautiful. Bella greeted me with a wiggle and licks on return. She's becoming a real part of the family. This morning, it's much cooler. Have a wonderful time and see you in a few weeks. MOM
We are not in the same hostel, we stayed at a campground at the edge of town. Yesterday we rented mtn bikes and rode the same trails that we rode a few years ago. Even took a photo coming down the same singletrack surrounded by heather plants all around. Heading south today for a little detour to see the highland games in Newtonmore.

The Millers have been fine. I was showering the dog down a couple times a day to keep her cool. I shower myself and then break into a glistening sweat a few minutes later. Oh well. We missed you last night as we hung out in Seattle for a bachelor party type thing. The Cornhole was fantastic. Creating a geocache was even better. My brother is an awesome guy. I hope you will be able to find this cache when you get back. I'm still loving your words and pictures!
